I. After the fires, two cultures, the people of the Maidu and Design came together at a table provided by the non-profit Sierra Institute to listen and learn from each other on how to rebuild out of scorched earth, charred forests and ancient loss. (43) 

II. Maidu shared ancient stories of how they built community by holding hands, stretching out to create a circle, for a home, a council, a porch, a new Roundhouse Youth Education Center sited across from the Greenville Elementary School. Design listened, drawing sketches together. (43)

III. Maidu and Design stretched out, holding hands, the community growing larger with generosity, from the Sierra Institute, PG&E, Plumas County, Greenville, Lights Creek Construction, Vaagen Timbers, and many more. Design drew quickly. (32) 

IV. Design drew community, with welcoming light for Maidu. Summer solstice light descends through the oculus into the center of the ancient space made from wood. (25) 

V. Design sourced twenty-eight human-scaled 21st century prefabricated innovative panels made from one hundred Douglas Fir trees from living healthy forests in Washington State. A Porch of Ponderosa Pine roundlogs sourced from fires looks outwards. (34) 

VI. Porch looks over the earth towards the school, and welcomes all children to come in. Maidu teaches them to dance, together in their regenerated home made from living, healthy forests. (30) 

VII. Listening to the wisdom of the collective, Design builds a bridge between natural intelligens and collective intelligens through the innovative use of wood, generating a new experience of wood, that restores both communities and forests. Restoring the light of the collective. (41.)

I. Dopo gli incendi, due culture – il popolo Maidu e Design – si sono incontrate e si sono “sedute” attorno a un tavolo, offerto dal non-profit Sierra Institute, per ascoltarsi a vicenda e imparare reciprocamente il modo in cui fosse possibile ricostruire da una terra bruciata, da foreste carbonizzate e da antiche perdite. 

II. I Maidu hanno condiviso antiche storie sul modo in cui costruivano la comunità tenendosi per mano e allargandosi fino a formare un cerchio per la casa, il consiglio, il Porch e il nuovo Roundhouse Youth Education Center situato di fronte alla Greenville Elementary School. Design ha ascoltato, tracciando schizzi insieme alla voce dei Maidu.  

III. Maidu e Design si sono tenuti per mano, la comunità è cresciuta con generosità, grazie a Sierra Institute, PG&E, Plumas County, Greenville, Lights Creek Construction, Vaagen Timbers e molti altri. E Design progettava rapidamente.  

IV. Design ha progettato il luogo dedicato alla comunità, con una luce accogliente per i Maidu. La luce del solstizio d’estate scende attraverso “l’occhio” posto al centro dell'antico spazio, realizzato in legno.  

V. Design ha scelto ventotto pannelli prefabbricati e innovativi del XXI secolo, a misura d'uomo, realizzati con cento Douglas Fir provenienti da foreste vive e rigogliose dello Stato di Washington. Un Porch costruito con tronchi rotondi di Ponderosa Pine, provenienti da aree bruciate, guarda verso l’esterno.  

VI. Porch guarda la terra in direzione della scuola, invitando tutti i bambini a entrare. I Maidu insegnano loro a danzare, insieme, nella loro casa rigenerata fatta di foreste vitali.  

VII. Ascoltando la saggezza della collettività, Design crea un ponte tra l'intelligens naturale e l'intelligens collettiva, nell'idea di utilizzare il legno in modo innovativo, generando una nuova esperienza “lignea” che ripristini sia la comunità sia la foresta. Ripristinando la luce della collettività.
